The coffee company that you should be at everyday: Ground Connection Coffee Bar

Ground Connection Coffee Bar

3 Second Street Jersey City. NJ

Coffee (cof•fee) noun: freshly ground heaven
“But first, coffee.”

It’s no secret that America literally runs sprints on coffee—an average of 587 million cups are consumed a day, on average.*eye twitches* (USA Today)

However with all the coffee places around here, there, and e v e r y w h e r e, how can we tell which coffee bars are really worth it? Well, we’ve got you covered and you might want to trade your loyalty at your fav spot for this one: Ground Connection Coffee Bar.

Ground Connection is that home brewed coffee shop you’ve been searching for your whole life. It features small batch specialty coffee, full leaf and herbal teas, six cold brewed coffees and teas on tap — yes, on tap— plus sandwiches, salads, and even flat bread pizzas. That’s not something you see at your local coffee shop every day.

The way Ground Connection approaches specialty coffee is simple, delicious, and out-right phenomenal. They use Toby’s Estate Coffee from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and use two different blends. Brooklyn Blend is used for drip coffee and the Flatiron Blend for Espresso Drinks. Now before you start to get the caffeine sweats, they have four signature drinks combining espresso *heavy breathing* and farm fresh milk:

  • Macchiato (3 oz)
  • Cortado (6 oz)
  • Cappuccino (8 oz)
  • Latter(12 oz)

They also offer cold brew coffee that are chilled on tap *explodes*. Ranging from coffees and lattes to lemonades and iced teas, is there anything Ground Connection doesn’t do?

Nope, because they are every coffee lovers d r e a m!

Did you think we were stopping there? No way, we are going to make you drool a bit more. Here are some of the things we fell in love with:

unnamed-1

Avocado Toasties: On the left is plain avocado toast with parsley on top —simple, classic, and perfectly creamy. If you’re an avo toast traditionalist, this one’s for you. However if you’re on the adventurous side, to the right is avo toast with lox (yuuum) and red onion. It’s smokey, creamy, crunchy, and meets all your #avotoastgoals.

Ground Connection Signature Hot Latte: We are suckers for a great hot latte — after a long stressful day, it’s the perfect way to end the day. You can tell that the coffee beans are fresh, the milk is fresh, the cup is even fresh! Nah, just playin’ but the cup might as well be!

Nitro Cold Brew: This needs to be said — this is the Guinness beer of coffee. Yes, yes we went there! Ground Connection is now offering Nitro Iced Coffee, the perfect blend of coffee infused with nitrogen. It’s super creamy, even served when black. And we swear to you, to all of you dedicated cream/milk/sugar people out there, you can drink this coffee black and not need a bit of sweetener. While you can add a bit of whatever you take in your coffee, we guarantee you that you wouldn’t want to touch this beautiful caffeinated masterpiece.

unnamed-2

The Cheeseburger: Hi, excuse us hi, they make fresh burgers at Ground Connection and they are thebomb.com. It’s a classic burger with the works: cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo.

Now we couldn’t visit a coffee shop without getting our sweet fix! We got to try an almond covered cheese danish and enjoyed the beautiful view from the coffee bar — the best way to end the night! Baked fresh, every layer of this was beautiful, sweet, and buttery.

Now we know what you’re probably thinking: I live no where near Jersey City so wtf Forked Up Jersey girls?!

Well aside from their Jersey City location, Ground Connection can also be found at the Shops at Riverside in Hackensack, NJ and at the Livingston Mall in Livingston, NJ. You can check out their website for more information and even check out their Instagram (but try not to drool over how delicious everything looks)!
